Travis Kelce Talks His Future with Taylor Swift on Podcast, Says He ‘Sure as Hell’ Enjoyed the Weekend
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end said on his podcast that it was an “exciting game” with Swift cheering for him from his suite
Travis Kelce is sharing fun details about his first public outing with Taylor Swift after the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday.
On a new episode of his weekly podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, the NFL star, 33, said, “I’m enjoying life and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend,” as he reflected on his night with Swift.
“Shout out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy,” Travis said as he talked to his brother and co-host, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, about how he felt having the singer in his suite during the “exciting game.”
“I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her — the friends and family. She looked amazing and everybody was talking about her in great light,” he said, adding that the cherry on top was that “the day went perfect for Chiefs fans of course,” noting their 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears.
Of seeing Swift watch the game alongside his mom, Donna Kelce, Travis said, “To see the slow motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with mom, to see how, you know, Chiefs kingdom was all excited that she was there — that s— was absolutely hysterical and it was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure.”
The Chiefs tight end also shared more about the events that took place after the game, as he and Swift were spotted driving away from Arrowhead Stadium in his 1970 Chevelle 408 Stroker convertible.
“And then we just slid off in the getaway car at the end,” he said, seemingly a nod to a song off Swift’s Reputation. “Took my Chevelle to the game. Shout out to Taylor for coming through and seeing me rock the stage.”
The two left the stadium together and went in his convertible to a restaurant in Kansas City that Kelce had rented out for a post-game party with his teammates and their partners.
During the episode, Travis also shared that he’s adjusting to the newfound attention he’s getting, including paparazzi outside his house. “I’m on the rollercoaster, man. The rollercoaster of life.”
He admitted, though, that he’s aware he brought it onto himself. “I know I brought all this attention to me. Right, I’m the one — I did the whole friendship bracelet thing and told everybody how butt hurt I was that I didn’t get to meet Taylor.”
But as his brother said, “You gotta shoot your shot,” to which Travis agreed, “Yeah, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, baby.”
In terms of whether or not Swifties can expect to hear more about the singer and the NFL player’s rumored romance in the future from Travis, he shared that “it is my personal life and I wanna respect both of our lives,” adding that he’ll be returning his focus to purely NFL-related content on future podcast episodes.
While the “Karma” singer’s attendance at Sunday’s game drew lots of attention to their rumored relationship, a source told PEOPLE the pair are still in the “super, super early days” of getting to know one another.
“They’re having fun,” added the insider, noting that Swift and Kelce had met prior to her attendance at the game. “This was Taylor’s first time meeting his mom and dad, and everyone was enjoying themselves. She was super chill and low-key hanging out with his friends and family.”
As for where things go next? “They’re just hanging out, and there’s no pressure,” said the source.
