Travis Kelce Provides Rare Insight Into Relationship With Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift share a sweet perspective when it comes to dealing with the attention focused on their romance.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end provided some rare insight into how they’ve been handling things during a press conference on Friday, Jan. 26. When asked if he noticed an uptick in the amount of attention he’s received this last season, Kelce couldn’t help but smile when he hinted at his “off-field” time spent with the “Blank Space” singer.

“I’d be silly to say that I didn’t notice it go up,” Kelce said. “I think the Super Bowl helped that, and obviously how I live my off-field life definitely helps out.”

When a reporter asked Kelce if he and Swift had any discussions regarding how to handle the attention, he gave a touching answer.

“The only thing we’ve talked about is, as long as we’re happy, we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise,” Kelce said with a nod. “That’s all that matters.”

Kelce and Swift took their relationship public last fall when Swift began attending Chiefs games. She has shown up for several more matchups this NFL season, including last weekend’s Chiefs-Buffalo Bills playoff game in New York. Many fans believe she will also be in Baltimore on Sunday, Jan. 28, to cheer for her boyfriend and his teammates alongside the Kelce family.

If the Chiefs claim victory over the Ravens, they will head to Super Bowl LVIII—marking their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years. Their most recent Super Bowl was last year, when they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35.

This year’s Super Bowl is on Feb. 11. It’s unknown if Swift would be able to attend even if Kelce plays, as she has a concert at the Tokyo Dome in Japan the day before.

Whether or not she’ll need to make that decision depends upon the outcome of Sunday’s game. For now, Kelce said he is focusing solely on his team’s next challenge.

“I’m thinking about this one on Sunday, and I want it more than I ever wanted one in my life,” Kelce told reporters. He praised the team’s “camaraderie” and clarified that he most wants victory for the other players on his team.

“It’s a good feeling, but we’ve got to get the job done,” Kelce said.

The Chiefs-Ravens playoff game kicks off at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 28, at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
