The biggest night in the fashion calendar is almost upon us (the Met Gala, duh), but will Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce be walking the red carpet this year? Here’s what we know so far.
You guys, the first Monday in May is coming! On the 6th, the most famous faces in celebsville will descend upon the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for a gala dinner. This year’s theme is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, while Anna Wintour’s co-chairs have already been confirmed as Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny.
While all eyes will inevitably be on Zendaya’s outfit choice (um, will it be Challengers themed?), fans are also wondering whether Taylor Swift will make an appearance – and whether boyfriend Travis Kelce will walk the red carpet with her.
Will Taylor Swift attend the 2024 Met Gala?
Apparently, both Taylor and Travis received invites to this year’s party, but there have been mixed reports about whether they’ll be attending.
The next stop on Taylor’s Eras Tour is in Paris on the 9th May – three days after the Met Gala – which means it’s not impossible for Taylor to attend, given she’s been known to fly between countries for similar commitments. But many reports suggest she’ll already be deep in rehearsal mode – particularly if she wants to include songs from new album The Tortured Poets Department in the next leg of her tour – meaning she won’t be present.
Another source told Page Six she “will indeed be attending the lavish event, but there is no word yet on whether Kelce will accompany her.”
Taylor has previously attended the Met Gala six times – first in 2008, and then most recently in 2016, which is reportedly where she met ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
