Prince Harry says he wants to reconcile but King Charles won’t speak to him

In a deeply personal and revealing moment, Prince Harry has shared that his efforts to mend ties with his father, King Charles III, have been met with silence. In a recent BBC interview, Harry confirmed that he wants reconciliation—but said the King “won’t speak” to him.

The estrangement comes amid ongoing disputes surrounding Harry’s security arrangements in the United Kingdom. After stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the Duke of Sussex lost taxpayer-funded protection and has since fought a legal battle to have it reinstated—only to be denied once again.

Harry didn’t hold back when discussing the implications of this decision, calling it an “establishment stitch-up,” and implying that royal insiders may have influenced the outcome of his security appeal. He also made an emotional point about the clock ticking on his father’s health, adding:

“I don’t know how much longer my father has.”

Despite the tension, Harry insists he has forgiven the Royal Family for past grievances. Still, the lack of progress in communication has made reconciliation difficult. He shared that concerns over his family’s safety—particularly Meghan Markle and their children—are a key reason why they haven’t visited the UK recently.

“My children deserve to know where they come from,” Harry said, adding that the current circumstances make that nearly impossible.

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment directly on Harry’s remarks, instead pointing to the court’s decision that upheld the original security ruling.

The situation remains tense, and it highlights just how complex—and public—the family rift has become. While Harry says he is ready to rebuild bridges, it appears the gates of Buckingham Palace remain firmly closed for now.
