News Now: Travis Kelce opens up about ‘living the dream’ with Taylor Swift and NFL success.
Travis Kelce, the NFL star who recently celebrated his third Super Bowl win, has been enjoying a surge in popularity off the pitch, thanks to his high-profile relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift.
Kelce, who is widely regarded as one of the best tight ends in the league and potentially the greatest of all time, saw his fame skyrocket this past season when Swift was spotted sitting with his mother at a Kansas City Chiefs game. Rumours had been swirling that the pair were an item, but it was Swift’s appearance at a game against the Chicago Bears in September that confirmed their relationship.
Throughout the season, Swift was seen at 12 other NFL games, often jetting off to different cities to watch Kelce play, with cameras eagerly capturing her reactions. Kelce returned the favour by flying out to Argentina to see Swift perform.
However, Swift’s dedication was truly demonstrated when she flew 13 hours from Tokyo to watch Kelce clinch his second consecutive Super Bowl, before jetting back to Japan the very next day.
Thanks to his relationship with the pop icon, Kelce has become a big hit with the ‘Swifties’, gaining millions of new followers on social media and becoming a star in his own right away from the football field.
Kelce is seizing new opportunities, recently snagging a role in an upcoming TV series marking his acting debut, and he will also host a forthcoming gameshow, hinting at future plans beyond his sporting career. Kelce, who’s been basking in the limelight, shared his excitement on Good Morning America: “I’m so fortunate, so grateful of everything that’s come my way in life. I feel like I’m on top of the mountain, even after winning the Super Bowl and having the offseason that I’m having. Livin’ the dream, baby.”
Kelce and pop sensation Swift are going strong, finding time for each other amidst their busy schedules. While Kelce dominated the field with the Chiefs from September to February, Swift toured South America and Asia, and she’s set to continue in Europe until August.
Despite their demanding careers, the couple prioritises quality time together, with Kelce openly expressing his joy in the relationship.
He then continued: “When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier. I’ve always been a very grounded guy. It might not come off that way when I’m playing football, but off the field, I just want to be a genuine person.”
Kelce will now embark on a six-week break before rejoining the Chiefs for their training camp – staying with the squad weekly over the next five months in the quest for his fourth championship title.
