Will there be an extra place setting at the Kelce or Swift Thanksgiving table this year?

With the holiday quickly approaching on Nov. 23, fans have been speculating whether or not Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will be spending Turkey Day together as their whirlwind romance continues to heat up.

Celebrating Thanksgiving together would mark the first significant outing for the couple since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end jetted off to Argentina to watch the pop superstar perform in Buenos Aires on Nov. 11 during the South American leg of her Eras Tour.

Their Latin American rendezvous was made possible due to the Chiefs’ bye week, allowing Kelce time off in his NFL schedule to step away from the game and travel. However, the team has returned for its second half of the season, resuming practice and games.

Similarly, Swift resumed her South American leg of the Eras Tour following a brief break in her schedule. After her weekend of shows in Argentina, the singer was spotted out with musician Gracie Abrams at Freemans Restaurant in Manhattan on Nov. 13.

“There’s always a game. If it’s not Thanksgiving Day, it’s that weekend,” Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, told PEOPLE on Nov. 14. “It’s one of those things that’s just difficult. That is their career, that is their livelihood, and it’s not to be taken lightly.”

Here’s a look at both Kelce and Swift’s upcoming schedules and whether their breaks align on Thanksgiving Day.

Does Travis Kelce have a game on Thanksgiving?

The Kansas City Chiefs do not have a game on Thanksgiving Day, which means Kelce is free to fix a plate and watch the other teams play from his couch. According to the Chiefs’ schedule, the team’s last game before Thanksgiving is on Nov. 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Monday’s match-up is a highly anticipated one, marking the first time the aforementioned teams will go head-to-head since the Chiefs clinched the NFL championship title against the Birds at the 2022 Super Bowl in February. (It also, of course, means we’ll see Donna Kelce wearing her split-team jacket again to root for both her kids; son Jason plays for the Eagles.)

Does Taylor Swift have a concert on Thanksgiving?

Now that the South American leg of Swift’s Eras Tour is underway, the pop superstar’s schedule has been busy with shows since it kicked off in Argentina on Thursday, Nov. 9 with three consecutive shows (the second of which for Kelce flew to Argentina to see the singer in action).

While the night was filled with sweet moments and gestures shared between the Grammy winner and her beau — like when Swift changed the lyrics to her song “Karma” and later ran into the waiting arms of Kelce to plant a kiss on him after the show — the NFL star has been back at work so hasn’t attended a show since.

After Swift’s string of concerts in Argentina, she briefly returned to N.Y.C. before jetting off to Brazil to continue her South American leg of the Eras Tour on Friday, Nov. 17. Originally slated to perform three consecutive concerts at Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, Swift had to rearrange her tour schedule due to “extreme temperatures in Rio.”

Swift announced the news on her Instagram, postponing the Saturday, Nov. 18 show. While she didn’t specify the new date at the time, event organizer Time for Fun revealed in a later statement that the show was rescheduled to Monday, Nov. 20, with all tickets to Saturday’s performance remaining valid for the new date. (That also means we won’t see Swift in the stands in Kansas City Monday.)

Does Travis Kelce have a game the day after Thanksgiving?

Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ home game on Monday, Nov. 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce’s team doesn’t have a game until Sunday, Nov. 26 against the Las Vegas Raiders. While Kelce doesn’t immediately have a game the day after Thanksgiving, he will have practice throughout the week.

Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, told PEOPLE that her sons’ NFL schedules mean that, ever since they embarked on their collegiate and pro careers, “I’ve never been in my own home cooking for Christmas or for holidays.”

And they won’t all be together this year “because they have to practice that week,” she told PEOPLE. “We have been together when they’ve had the bye week like that … But this year, you have to practice every single day because you’ve got another game coming up on Sunday … So this week and next week they’ll be practicing from Tuesday through Saturday. It’s just the way it goes.”

Like Travis, Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles will have their first post-Thanksgiving game on Sunday, Nov. 26.
Does Taylor Swift have a concert the day after Thanksgiving?

Swift’s Monday, Nov. 20 show marks her last concert date before Thanksgiving. Immediately after the holiday, however, she resumes tour on Friday, Nov. 24 where she’ll perform three consecutive nights in São Paulo, Brazil.

Where will Travis Kelce’s family be on Thanksgiving?

As for how Donna plans on celebrating Turkey Day, she said she’ll be in Philadelphia. “There’s always a game,” she told PEOPLE on Nov. 14.

“If it’s not Thanksgiving Day, it’s that weekend,” she explained. “So I just go to whoever’s home, and if both of them are home, I have to just decide in April which games I’m going to go to and which games I’m not.”

“This year they’re both playing Christmas Day, that’s going to stink,” the mom of two continued. “But it’s one of those things that’s just difficult. That is their career, that is their livelihood, and it’s not to be taken lightly… there’s a lot of kids and other players on the team that need you and you support the team. That’s just the way it works.”

Earlier in November, Donna told PEOPLE she wasn’t “quite sure what Travis’ plans are;” though, she was solid on plans of her own. “But I do know that I’ll be in Philly because [Jason] has a game that Sunday in Philadelphia, so I definitely will be there for that game.”

The Kelce family’s holiday celebrations haven’t looked traditional since Travis and Jason started playing for the University of Cincinnati, she also reveals. “Ever since they were in college, we’ve always been on the road,” Donna said. “It’s just the life of being a mom for the NFL. It’s always work so you have to kind of go where they are.”
On Wednesday, Kelce confirmed he’d be on his own for Thanksgiving, saying, “I’ll be feasting on KFC because I won’t have anybody here.”
