Bill Gates Accuses Elon Musk Of ‘Killing’ World’s Poorest Children Over USAID Budget Cut

In a recent series of interviews, Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates has publicly criticized Elon Musk for his role in significant cuts to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), alleging that these actions could lead to the deaths of millions of the world’s poorest children.
Gates specifically pointed to the cancellation of grants in countries like Mozambique, warning of a possible resurgence in diseases such as HIV, measles, and polio. He emphasized that childhood mortality could increase by a million deaths annually due to these cuts.
In response to these developments, Gates announced that the Gates Foundation will close by December 31, 2045, aiming to distribute nearly all of his wealth—over $200 billion—by then to initiatives focused on saving and improving lives globally. The foundation will intensify efforts over the next 20 years to combat preventable deaths and poverty.
Musk has not publicly responded to Gates’ accusations.
The clash between Gates and Musk underscores differing philosophies on philanthropy and the role of government in addressing global health challenges. While Gates emphasizes the importance of sustained public funding and international aid, Musk has advocated for efficiency and has been critical of traditional aid organizations.
As the global community grapples with these developments, the future of international aid and the well-being of vulnerable populations remain pressing concerns.
