Adult star Emily Willis ‘weighed five stone’ at rehab before vegetative coma, say family
Ex-adult star Emily Willis weighed just more than five stone when she was admitted to a rehab centre earlier this year, her family revealed.
Emily’s condition still remains a mystery to the world as there’s been no word of any progress in her state after she woke from a “vegetative coma” in around May time.
On February 5 this year Emily was rushed to a medical facility in Thousand Oaks, California, following a cardiac arrest. She slipped into the “vegetative coma” but has since regained consciousness, however, despite this she remains unable to speak and can only track objects with her eyes, as per the latest GoFundMe update in May.
There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.Her sibling assured those who’ve donated that the total, which is currently just shy of $90,000, is being used to aid Emily’s recovery and efforts are being made to transfer her to a hospital closer to home.
Emily’s stepdad Michael Willis, who brought her up as his own, confirmed in March that Emily was in rehab for eight days before suffering a cardiac arrest while in treatment, reports TMZ.And while police initially believed the 25-year-old was taken ill as a result of a “overdose”, Michael said doctors confirmed that the early toxicology screen came back negative – meaning nothing was in her system at the time.
Michael told the outlet Emily wasn’t eating very much before going to rehab, and that she weighed only 80 pounds (5st 7lbs) when she checked herself into the facility. While this is alarming, it is not clear if her weight played a part in her falling seriously ill.He added Emily was focussed on getting healthy and “very open” about seeking treatment for her “substance abuse problem”.The most recent GoFundMe update from May 2 reads: “Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for exceeding the donation goal, and all the support… The love and care everyone has expressed for my sister is inspiring. My family wouldn’t have been able to provide the level of care needed without your donations. Apologies for not providing an update sooner.
“The most important thing loved ones can do is provide stimulus by talking to her, reminiscing about all the fantastic memories, playing her favourite music, photos, and more. As of now, we haven’t been able to transfer hospitals, but the location she’s at provides great rehabilitation, care, and stimulus for her well being.”I want to sincerely thank everyone for all your support and donations. From the bottom of our hearts we are extremely grateful to see the love from so many people who want to see Emily get better. Your donations give us the opportunity to make the best decisions for her care.
“I will provide updates of her recovery as we learn more information and time goes by. This is a long journey ahead of us, please be patient as this is the most difficult part of the state she’s in.”
Emily’s progress appears to have hit a standstill as doctors grapple with the mystery of how she suffered a cardiac arrest. Her family is hopeful to transfer her from the California hospital to one in St. George, Utah, where she grew up.
