Travis Kelce and Andy Reid make NFL history in Chiefs’ comeback win

Kelce and Reid were a historic comboination on Sunday during Kansas City’s 31-17 comeback road victory against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Kelce kept adding to his huge numbers, becoming the fastest player in NFL history to reach 11,000 receiving yards as a tight end.

Only three tight ends stand in Kelce’s way for the all-time record in receiving yards at his position.

He also reached the big number significantly faster than Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten and Antonio Gates.

Compared to Kelce, Gonzalez needed 37 extra games to reach 11,000.

The Chiefs tight end caught six passes for 91 yards against the Raiders.

Kelce, an eight-time Pro Bowler, didn’t have a touchdown on Sunday.

But he entered rare territory and is on pace to eventually pass Gonzalez for the most receiving yards by a tight end (15,127) in the NFL.

Reid also had a big day on Sunday.

The two-time Super Bowl winner already had the most head coaching wins in Philadelphia history.

With the comeback win over the Raiders, Reid eclipsed the legendary Hank Stram for the most coaching victories in Chiefs history (125).

Now, Reid holds wins titles for two NFL franchises and is the only coach in league history to accomplish the feat.

With Kelce and Reid both moving up the record books, the Chiefs overcame a 14-0 second-quarter deficit to outscore Las Vegas 31-3.

Patrick Mahomes was an efficient 27-of-34 passing for 298 yards, two TDs and a 122.8 rating as Kansas City got its offense back on track.

“We still have stuff to learn from this game,” Mahomes said. “There were some situations where we didn’t execute at a high enough offensive level.

“But we obviously took a step in a positive direction. Now it’s just continuing to do that throughout the rest of the season.”

The Chiefs improved to 8-3 while the Raiders fell to 5-7.
