Known for her iconic bombshell image, from that famed red swimsuit to leather corsets, Pamela Anderson has made many fashion statements over the years.

A 90s trailblazer, the actress, 57, helped to define a decade with many of her looks been recreated time and time again.

But, 2023 became a banner year for the sex symbol, who released her memoir Love, Pamela and starred in the documentary Pamela, A Love Story.

The projects allowed her to discuss her life with searing candour, baring her soul about a number of traumatic events, including her history of sexual assault and the sex tape scandal that made her infamous around the world.

Pamela, who recently opened up on battling ‘depression for a couple of decades,’ has also spoken out about her Hepatitis C diagnosis and PTSD.

Another turning point saw her go makeup-free for her appearance at Paris Fashion Week, following the death of her makeup artist and long-time friend Alexis Vogel in 2019, in a bid to ‘stop chasing her youth.’

Alexis help to mould Pam into a phenomenon, ‘Baby Bardot’ as she liked to call her, the makeup artist shaped the Playboy model into a ‘retro sex kitten, making it my own – and her own look,’ she told MailOnline.

Debuting a new look, Pam insisted she is going to ‘accept’ herself for who she is and has received praise from fans for ‘aging gracefully.’

After spending the past three decades in the spotlight playing fictional characters like Casey Jean ‘C.J.’ Parker and Barb in the 1996 distopic sci-fi action film Barb Wire, the icon, who many still view as the archetypal blonde bombshell, has opened up about her current journey of self-discovery.

And as she marks another height in her long showbiz career, MailOnline takes a look at Pam’s most iconic outfits, health battles and defining moments.

Arguably Pamela’s most iconic ever look, and the reason she shot to fame, came when she was cast a C.J. Parker in the hit 1990s series Baywatch.

But in a new interview with Glamour, she admitted she had ‘never been’ totally self-assured in her own skin, until now.

‘I’m lucky because I’ve never really had to worry about my weight or anything like that, but I just… [have] never been 100% confident,’ she explained.

‘I feel like [now] it’s the first time in my life where I feel like if I’m wearing a bathing suit… I feel fine about myself. It’s so freeing.’

A plunging white T-shirt with denim cut-off shorts and black cowboy boots, this casual look proved timeless.

When Pamela attended the Hollywood All-Stars Charity Baseball Game on August 22, 1992, she opted for a casual look.

This year, up-cycling label Re/Done released 25 pieces based on Pam’s early laid-back Californian style, with this look featuring.

‘I’m thrilled to share my fun little blend of Vancouver Island farm style and OG Malibu vibes with Re/Done’, Pam said on her Instagram.

‘Our collection is bringing back some of my favourites—baby tees, onesies, jeans and tie tops…new and improved. From top to bottom, this collection is fully sustainable and made with love. Enjoy.’

For the CCAM Awards in Sydney, Australia in December 1994 Pamela wore one of Versace’s iconic safety pin dresses.

Paired with tousled hair, a smokey eye and a long French manicure, she embodied everything that the 90s was famed for.

Donatella Versace first made Liz Hurley famous with her iconic safety pin dress when she wore it to the Four Weddings And A Funeral premiere in 1994 – with the black cut-out gown having a huge impact on 90s culture.

As synonymous with Pam as the Baywatch swimsuit, the 1990s black leather corset she wore for the 1996 film Barb Wire is another notable look.

In the lead up to the release of the American superhero film, the actress not only channeled her character’s outfits but also wore several of her costumes during the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.

Featuring a plunging lace-up front and halterneck, the daring piece has been recreated many times over the years, by celebrities and fans alike.

When Hulu mini-series Pam and Tommy was released last year, Lily James was seen in the leather corset for the first look sneak peak, as she transformed into Pam.

Kendall Jenner also dressed up as the pin-up for Halloween in 2020, working Barb’s leather bodysuit and thigh-high boots as she hopped upon a motorcycle.
