Chief’s QB Patrick Mahomes stands against Taylor and Travis getting engaged….revealed reason their marriage won’t last long
Travis Kelce’s newfound fame amid Taylor Swift romance hasn’t changed him, insists Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes: ‘He has all that attention but he’s just been himself’
Patrick Mahomes insisted Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce has not changed amid his new big reputation.
Kelce, 34, has dominated headlines over the past few months since his love story with Taylor Swift sparked a global frenzy.
The tight end began dating the popstar last summer after attending her Eras Tour in Kansas City and the couple have taken the sport and entertainment worlds by storm with the songstress attending several of his Chiefs games.
But the two-time Super Bowl winner hasn’t let the extra attention go to his head, claims Chiefs quarterback Mahomes.
‘Travis has always been Travis,’ the signal caller told NBC. ‘It’s been cool to watch for me because he has all that attention but he’s just been himself the whole time.
He’s still Travis Kelce. He still will walk through the stadium and treat every single person like they’re his best friend. And he’s going to be like that in the locker room every single day. It hasn’t been any different.’
Kelce’s rise to new heights of fame last year didn’t begin with his new romance, however. He was already one of the NFL’s most recognizable and popular faces, featuring in multiple TV advertisements.
He also hosted Saturday Night Live following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles and his brother Jason last year.
And Mahomes revealed that the SNL gig was a dream come true for his teammate, who used to quote sketches in the locker room.
It was really, really cool,’ Mahomes said. ‘It was a dream of his. He knows all the skits from guys that were on Saturday Night Live. He was telling me the ones from before I was even born. I was like, “Trav, I’m not the same age as you, I don’t even know who that is.”‘
Kelce has the chance to make yet another high-profile TV appearance, if the Chiefs manage to make a second-straight Super Bowl.
Kansas City travels to Baltimore to play the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in the AFC Championship game Sunday.
If the Chiefs can brush of the No 1 seed, they’ll punch their ticket to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on February 11.
