After surrendering back-to-back defensive touchdowns in an NFL record seven seconds Kelce slammed his helmet to the ground in frustration.

Reid then stepped in to speak to Kelce in an effort to calm the eight-time Pro Bowler down, when the two bumped into each other during the heat of the moment.

‘Trav and I talked, we talked yeah,’ Reid said after being asked if he had to have any extra conversations with Kelce after the incident.

He then declined to go into specifics of the conversation, telling a reporter he didn’t want to make any details of the conversation public knowledge.

Kelce also spoke on the incident and admitted that he needs to keep his emotions in check during those moments.

‘He (coach Reid) is looking out for me and I love him for it,’ Kelce said on his New Heights podcast on Wednesday. ‘I didn’t go back out there and play good. He wanted to see the fire in me and I reacted in a bad way.

He wanted the best out of me and right now I’m just not playing my best football. I’ve got to f***ing lock the f*** in and be more accountable for him and more accountable for my teammates.

‘I’ve got to keep my f***ing cool man because as a leader on this team that’s not how you switch momentum.’

Kansas City dropped to a 9-6 record after the loss and have looked far away from the dominate side that many have become accustomed to over the last few years.

NFL analyst Danny Kanell even went as far as to say Kelce’s teammate Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is having ‘the worst season of his career’ following the loss.
