Meghan Markle has unveiled the budding photography passion of her son, Prince Archie, disclosing that the young royal expressed a desire for an upscale camera as a Christmas gift.
The revelation came during a Q&A session after a screening of Netflix’s short film “The After” at their residence in Montecito, California, where Markle, Prince Harry, and their children, 4-year-old Archie and 2-year-old Princess Lilibet, reside
Markle shared that Archie’s interest in photography was sparked by Misan Harriman, a renowned photographer responsible for capturing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s family moments.
During a photography lesson with Harriman, Markle gifted Archie a camera, but he promptly noted, “But it’s not a Leica like Misan,” referencing the high-end, handcrafted cameras that can be quite pricey.
Amused by Archie’s lofty request, Markle humorously recounted their exchange.
“You are not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas,” she declared.
Despite the interesting choice considering Prince Harry’s aversion to cameras due to the paparazzi’s role in Princess Diana’s life, Markle expressed gratitude to Harriman for inspiring their son.

Interestingly, Archie did receive a unique Christmas gift – a waffle maker – from his late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.Prince Harry shared on “The Late Late Show” that the Queen asked what Archie wanted, and Meghan suggested a waffle maker. The thoughtful gift has become a breakfast hit in the royal household, with Archie waking up eagerly to ask, “Waffle?”
However, the holiday season for the royal family is not without its complexities. The couple is opting for a reconciliation strategy after a tumultuous year that saw the release of Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” which included unflattering stories about other members of the royal family.
Despite the challenges, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to extend a special gift to King Charles, marking an attempt at reconciliation in the midst of recent controversies and revelations within the royal circles.

An ex-royal butler previously hinted that the Sussexes were contemplating a more lasting stay in the UK, with potential plans to purchase property, following their eviction from their Frogmore Cottage base on the Windsor Estate last summer. Grant Harrold, a former butler to King Charles, told the New York Post: "I'd never say never, it's always possible that one day he might want to come home, it's possible that he might buy [a property] here if he wanted to come over [more] and Meghan didn't want to come over. "Meghan doesn't really have any family here as such, all her family are in the States and that's where Harry has decided he wants to set up his home." Grant, who spoke for Oddspedia, comprehends the difficulty Prince Harry may have in completely leaving behind his British roots: "He'll want to have that association with Britain just in case one day he does want to come back and I don't think Harry will want to sever ties."
